Funnies

Don't fall out of your seats, y'all, but here is another blog entry. It didn't take a month!

Our neighbor, Mrs. Keeton, is a recess monitor at school. She said Liam was bundled up with his hat on, his hood up, his fleece and coat both buttoned up to his nose, so all anyone could see were eyeballs. She said, "Hi Liam!" He answered her, and another kid piped up, "how'd you know it was him!?" She answered that Liam had a very unique voice. Liam added his two cents, "yeah, my mom says it residents."

She said it took her a minute, but she had to giggle that he obviously meant "resonant" and how cute it was. When he got home I drew pictures of a person singing and a house, and we discussed resonant, resonates, residence, residents, and tied it into students. It was a great language lesson!

This part is totally unrelated to that, and will tickle "Avatar" fans. While PaPa was here for his 24 hour visit this week, we (Dada, PaPa and I) watched the Victoria's Secret Angels show. When it was over, Dada quipped, "you know what they were advertising, right?" I stated the obvious answer and he grinned and replied, "unobtainium!"  I liked that answer so much that we started a discussion on Facebook about it. ;)

In other news, the tree is up and decorated, and thanks to PaPa and Grandmama there are millions of wrapped gifts under it already. Liam took one look while coming down the stairs and bubbled, "can we open them now?!" No, buddy, got a long way to go until Christmas...

But Big Bird stopped by to give Liam some money for his first missing top tooth that he wiggled out himself last night. With no drama. With no whining. With no tears. That sneaky Big Bird swiped his tooth and left this note downstairs taped to Liam's placemat:

DEAR LIAM, I ALMOST BONKED MY BEAK ON YOUR BED! I GUESS I AM TOO TALL FOR THE BOTTOM BUNK. I DON'T HAVE ANY POCKETS BUT I DO HAVE TWO SHINY QUARTERS. AND I SAW YOUR TURKEY HAS A YELLOW FEATHER JUST LIKE MINE! LOVE, BIG BIRD

Liam, excited but unfazed, told us, "see? I KNEW Big Bird would come!" Did I mention he was up at 6:30 with the big overhead light on, hunting for money in his bed, under his bed, etc? Oh, excuse me. Not money. He'd hoped Big Bird would bring him a Nintendo DS. Good thing that Bird pointed out he doesn't have any pockets...

Dada's been in town all week as his Canada trip didn't materialize, and it has been SO nice having homework backup. Thing One has had plenty to do this week and an especially rough math test to correct. I am SO GLAD I didn't have to be the lone man standing on the parenthood front. Thanks, honey, for your math patience. Mine would be in the imaginary negative numbers. Yoi.

Grandmama visits this weekend as she's done with finals, so we're getting excited about that. Dada's work party is tomorrow night, so we'll be getting all gussied up and will have pictures taken. Y'all can see my new short 'do and new dress. Yippie! Oh, and there'll be picture of Liam minus a tooth as well.

Have a super weekend!
