Unique units of measurement

In her Kindergarten readiness packet, we read that we are encouraged to teach the kids nontraditional units of measurements, like how many cereal boxes long is the couch? How tall are you in pencils? Etc. The kids have already been using my brother "Hinrew", his wife "Muggin", and their spaniel mix Betsy, as measuring units. For example, tall french fries are "Hinrew ones" while tiny ones are "Betsy ones"... well, I ended up with the Hinrew Frosted Mini Wheat of all time yesterday! Three of them were still stuck together. Talk about impressing the kids! ;)
