Well, she made it to four years old. I know there was some debate about if that would happen or not, but she did, and she had a good birthday. We went to Baskin Robbins that night w/ our usual suspects (Lee, Rita, Nina) and devoured birthday ice cream. She opened some presents and got a million phone calls. ;) She received a teddy bear, new Cinderella jammies and slippers, colored pencils, tank tops, capris, some videos, some play doh and the "factory" to go with it, and some money. She still has a present or two put away in the closet, now that I think about it...
Some of the latest Carrieisms are:
She was playing w/ our blue and red shape ball that has the yellow shapes you push into the matching slots. She approached me and asked very seriously, "is this the octogon or is it the pestigon?" I managed to keep a straight face and told her it was a hexagon or a pentagon ( I forget which now), and then we talked about octogons having 8 sides just like an octopus has 8 legs because "octo" means 8. She nodded solemnly and informed me, "they're the same. They both start with 8's." Yes. Ahem. Of course they do.
She was asking about our friend Mike while we were driving somewhere. She wanted to know if "Mike and his appetizer" were coming over soon. Dada and I looked at each other and thought, "how does she even know the word appetizer?" Here I figured out she meant MIke and his harmonica, which she used to call a monitor. One day she'll get it right!
Oh, and stats. They had their 18 month and 4 year appointments w/ Dr. Jon on Wednesday while my mom was here. Care Bear is 29 pounds (still our resident featherweight) and is 38.5 inches tall. She got two shots (MMR & chicken pox) and doesn't need to go back until she's 5. Liam weighed in at 23 pounds and is 33 inches tall. He also got two shots (DPT and Hib) and needs to go back in 6 months for his *gulp* 2 year appointment! Dr. Jon said everything looked wonderful, and then he checked his ears. Ugh. Ear infection =( Well, they are BOTH coughing but chests are clear... Dr. Jon declared it the stubborn spring cold that everyone here has. It went into poor Lamb's ears so he's on antibiotics again. Now his cough sounds a whole lot better and hers sounds worse. Kids! I almost forgot.. she was big enough to get her blood pressure taken. Then she informed the nurse that "you forgot to do Lamb's!" Little miss boss. Grandmama brought a child's doctor kit with her (great timing!) and of course she had to take it TO the office... she even checked Dr. Jon's heart. Of all the visits to have forgotten the camera... anyway...
So that's the latest here. Dada and I even got to go on a date yesterday after getting the ball rolling on Will/Trust stuff with our new lawyer. Consider this everyone's reminder to either go start one or go update one. There. Public service announcement time is over. On to the pictures! Have a great weekend!
