Whilst he was cleaning out gutters, I asked Thing Two to please check the dryer vent as well. Good thing he did, as there were actual twigs in there amongst dryer fuzz and now it shuts correctly. However, upon opening it, he coughed and sputtered and we heard,
"Ack! I've been spored!"
