Yes, I still have more beach pictures to do, but here are the first day of school shots. Both kids were, amazingly, excited to go to first and fourth grades. They practically bounced out of bed last Wednesday and got ready in record time. Dada stayed a few extra minutes to see them off. Both kids are excited about the teachers they've been assigned and were glad to reconnect with friends they hadn't seen all summer. They came home reporting great days! Yay!
Lest you think that because the big kids are in school all day there will be no blogging material, remember that this little guy is still home with me. He gets into mischief regularly and has a marvelously developed sense of humor already. Expect plenty of stories throughout the year.
And because things are never boring, the kids had wonderful four days of school. Last night as I headed to bed, I ran into Care Bear, who was headed to the bathroom to be sick. Poor kid! I'm not sure if it was something she ate or if she's succumbed to school germs already, but she is down and out on the couch today. As luck would have it, we had terrible fog early this morning which prompted a district-wide announcement phone call of a two-hour delay. Did I mention it's the FIFTH day of school!? Seriously?! So at least our resident fourth grader won't miss too much today. Hopefully the rest of the week will be surprise-free, unless they be good surprises, that is. ;)
