More summer Shenaniganery

Aunt Sherri and Uncle Tom like to join us for the fair, and since he's a pilot he can fly them here to the local airport and we pick them up. While Dada ran to get them, I rallied the troops to get ready from here. Someone decided it'd be a good idea to stretch out while he waited, and promptly fell asleep on our bed. By the time I get two of the three Things ready, I lose the third. Can NOT keep my ducks in a row...

Got that kid up, everyone into the car, grabbed Tino, and off we went!

Since the kid is 13 now, we figured that's old enough for him to have a ride wristband and run around and wear himself out. He had a BALL and rode nonstop in between us checking on him. So many rides and circles and spins and dips and doodles that he eventually had to crash onto a picnic table's bench with an "ohhhhhhhh, that was too many at once!"

He's in the florescent shorts on the right side.
Tino enjoyed the outing and voted this goat Best Dressed.

Sadly, we didn't get to keep them and had to return them to the airport.

This is not the same time frame, but I came down with a whole basket of toasty dog towels fresh from the dryer and Dada intercepted with an, "ooooooooh! Give 'em here!!!" He proceeded to drape them over himself and headed off into Dreamland. I told him he was responsible for putting them away. He had a nice nap and did a good job!

This cloud performed the perfect imitation of a cotton ball. I was dodging traffic on our walk so by the time I got a decent shot of it, it had experienced some decomposition, but it had been so cute!

Some sweet friends of ours stayed one night after dropping their kiddo off at college. It's always so good to see them and we're looking forward to way more of it! Dada got to hang out with them, too, but had to leave earlier for a work meeting so he missed our photo op.

Yes, my children, it is yet another picture of the sky.

PaPa came out to visit for a few days so we had to take him to the pool! He started a splashing battle where he proceeded to get ganged up on, but otherwise I think he had a good time. He hopefully got some decent photos of Thing Three backflipping off the diving board. Love to have some fun in the sun! Sad that our pool is closed for the year now. I know there'd be an awful lot of moms willing to celebrate kids being back in school!

And that's the end.

Tino had to get some more selfies before we left Mexico.

Muggin was right; Miami Vice drinks are delicious!

Hinrew got Dada addicted to spicy hot chips...

And home again, home again, jiggety jig.

Stuff and Nonsense

There's a new post over on Telling It Like It Is, for those of you who like to really make the Internet work for you. Hehe. It's an "I Spy" funny that I hope you'll enjoy. It is an extremely accurate snapshot of our house these days.

In other news, Dada gets home from a week in London today, huzzah! He took Tiny Traveling Tino with him and got a few shots of Tino with the Tower Bridge in the background. Somewhere he also found a tiny soccer ball, so Tino has been having some World Cup fun, apparently!

Grandma Barb and Pap are coming today to join the kids for the VBS picnic and closing celebration. Things One and Three have had a very high-energy, fun, exciting week. Tonight will be face painting, inflatables, games, picnic food, probably a video of clips from throughout their week.

The theme was Wilderness Experience, so Moses has put in quite a few appearances. It was a hoot last night to watch him in full costume performing the alternating kicks that increase in speed for the Shalom song. I think everyone will be disappointed to have the week come to an end. The crafts have been very cute and the music is catchy. I might just have to listen to some of it today on my trip today. Or maybe I'll give it a one-night break...

I'll be having dinner with Thing Two and will take him for a quick stay at Grandmama and PaPa's tonight before we head home. He's survived his first whole week at camp without any family around. I can't wait to hear about all the water balloons he encountered or who went down the Slip N Slide face first or who fell out of the canoe or who lost their suit at the water park. He'll probably talk the whole way home.

Have a safe, wonderful weekend everyone!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

And if you know me, you'll know that I'm not in the least bit happy about it. I came out of the Y tonight into snow. SNOW. *Insert lots of choice bad words here. I did.*

We've been enjoying having Dada back home from his two week trip in China. He had an excellent first experience from the food to the inner workings of the business side to the landscape to the haggling/dickering/price finessing. I've only seen a handful of pictures, icnluding Tiny Traveling Tino holding a peanut with chopsticks, but the food looked amazing. Poor Dada is adjusting to the 13 hour time zone difference by sneaking in naps...

Tomorrow begins parent-teacher conferences, which ought to be interesting given Thing One and Thing Two.  There is potential for some good blogging there!

But first, I must go make Aunt Chris's Best-Ever Potato Soup for Dada's work potluck tomorrow. And Gingersnaps. And PaPa's coming! Woohoo! Goodnight. And try not to think about the nofucks . Click on that for a refresher.

Tino through the XRay

Care Bear joined the Girl Scouts this school year. They meet once a month after school and also do one fun monthly outing. For November, the girls met up at a local hospital for a tour of the X-ray section and were told to bring one stuffed animal or favorite lovey from home. Of course, steadfast Tino got to go with Carrie. Tino is a rainbowy Beanie Baby whom Carrie has had for years and years. She says she got to see his beans!

When they were finished, the girls were in the cafeteria having cookies and punch. And they were all in the tie dyed Tshirts they'd made at their first meeting. AND they were wearing the soft, blue surgical hats that look like poufy chef hats almost. Tooooo funny to see a whole troop of girls in matching garb, munching away. She had a wonderful time.

She's also very much looking forward to their camping trip in May. That oughta be hilarious!

Taking it easy today. We did church and it's break time now. Dada even got to mow, for what's hopefully the last time of 2011. Triskal is enjoying it completely; rolling around like fresh cut grass is the best thing ever for Newfoundland fuzz. Silly girl.

Happy weekend, and happiest of birthdays to Grandmama! oxoxoxoxoxoo!
