Getting close to Christmas

Me and my little boy ready to go snuggle more babies at church on Sunday:

This child thinks he's starving. He's been reduced to shoe leather. You'd think we never feed the poor, neglected, almost 18 pounder...

We certainly have to claim him

"Whatcha got in there, Dada? Whaddaya mean it's chocolate ice cream? What's chocolate ice cream?"

"Here, wait a second, that doesn't look like something you should be eating. Lemme taste it to make sure it hasn't gone to the dark side."

"Auuuuuuuuugh! My tongue is stuck to this thing!"

"Just kiddin' ya. Hey, this stuff is pretty good. Don't tell Mama. Uh oh, you got some on my jammies, Dada. Way to hide the evidence... gonna get us both busted..."

Temptation

The big kids love it when we put Damon under the tree because he is such good entertainment...

Contemplating all he really wants for Christmas. Better coordination, perhaps...

St. Pat Swirlies

We take a break from our regularly scheduled blog to bring you peppermint sugar cookies, affectionately known around here as St. Pat's Swirlies... juiced up a bit for the holidays:

Boys Being Boys

"I have it on good authority that super heroes wear capes. So this is not a bib. It's a cape. Got it?"

Liam's uncanny impersonation of Grover:

Damon trying to turn himself into a burrito:

One of my favorites. While Dada visits the Seven Kingdoms, Damon visits Dreamland:

Fun with Blocks

Sure, the blocks are cute, but I'm partial to the paw-print on his bum... hey, maybe he's a clue! =D

"Mama! Did you just take a picture of my bum!? And this will be out there for the whole world to see!? Will you please try to restrain yourself already!?"

Getting into the season

We heard this while shopping yesterday and I remembered getting it through email a few years ago. It cracks the kids up completely, so I figured we ought to share. Enjoy, and thanks to the geniuses at YouTube for posting such fun things! =)

White Christmas

Looking guilty

Mama! You're not supposed to be watching me while I get into the unsupervised stockings!

Wait, what do you mean "that one is for the dog"?

I most certainly did NOT eat any of the doggie treats, thank you very much!

Now, I wonder what's in that one over there...

And of course we need pictures with the wooly mammoth...

I leave these guys unsupervised and this is what I turn back around to find:

Damon, thinking: WHAT was that!? Triskal thinking: Who me? I didn't do anything...

Look at this beautiful girl. Come-hither eyes. She is going to drive the boys wild someday when they discover she isn't just one of the guys.

Saturday snuggles

I LOVE his face in this one!

His siblings are making sure he grows to love books, just like they do. I'm so glad!

Sunday Wonderland

The kids woke up to the first real snowfall of the season and couldn't wait to get outside. Thanks to Dada for getting pictures!

Sunday fun

Care Bear and Dada playing Buckeye checkers... Liam didn't want to come inside for forever.

Damon is really enjoying his bee. All 3 kids have loved this toy!

More stats

Okey dokey, here's the latest. Damon weighed in at 17 lbs, 13 ounces, putting him at the 50th percentile. He's 28 and a fourth inches long, putting him right up there at the whopping 95th percentile for height, and his head is 17 and a fourth inches, back in the 50th percentile. Our big boy! =) He also got 4 shots, poor thing, but weathered it pretty well. The nurse was super fast and stabstabstabstab he was done. =/ One was a flu shot, and he doesn't have to go back in for a second one for 4 more weeks. Then he's free and easy until his 9 month appointment, and he does NOT *YAY* get shots then! Dr. Jon said everything looked great. *beam*

It was 16 this morning when we went to the bus stop. Not fun, but at least there was no wind. And Dada has been in town so that is always wonderful! Tomorrow night we get another date, our third in two weekends, so we are really looking forward to that.

Have a great night! We're beat!

The fastest 6 months ever...

Damon is 6 months old already! Wah! =( I've taken to calling him "Your Fatness" whenever the big kids aren't around. Liam tells me that's not nice. But he's got these irresistible cheeks... and he still likes to hoot and screech at us, so we also call him our screech owl. His chops are also on the roly-poly side and he just snuggles in when you hold him. And then he promptly twists around to see what is going on BEHIND him. And then twists the other way. And sometimes he goes straight back. I keep telling him that he's going to scare 10 years off the lives of his grandmothers if he does that while they are holding him...

Thanks to Grandma Barb, Dada and I got to go to his work's dinner dance party on Saturday night. We had a wonderful time! And then after church on Sunday, we snuck out to see Harry Potter 7. Two great dates in one weekend; we are getting spoiled. Grandma Barb made it back home safe today. Thanks for babysitting!!

Tonight Damon tried baby oatmeal for the first time, and we seriously could not shovel it in fast enough. I had to made two more small bowls of it for him! Couldn't believe it! Safe to say he's a fan. So far he really likes sweet potatoes the best, then carrots, then peas, and squash is dead last. Not sure if it's because it is thicker than the others or what, but he's really not fond of it. I think pears is next on our list.

Carrie gave an oral report on gray wolves last Friday, which also included presenting a habitat box. She received 48 of 50 points and was very pleased with herself. Way to go, Carrie! She's now our official expert on gray wolves, so ask her all about it. =D

Liam is having a wonderful time in preschool, especially with his friends Sam and Cordelia. Miss Alicia is very patient and has a good time with them. Liam loves to come home and have lunch with Dada, and he is constantly smooching the baby. See pictures below.

Gotta get this crew ready for bed. Tomorrow is a scheduled 2 hour delay, Thursday is Damon's 6 month appointment, and Friday night our home group is going out to eat so we'll actually have a babysitter for that, too! Yay, Lexi!

Have a great week, everyone, and enjoy getting ready for Christmas!

Where IS Waldo?

Here's what is sure to be the first of many shenanigans involving Waldo and crew:
