Snowman Soup by Aunt Megan

Something fun from Aunt Megan:

SNOWMAN SOUP
"when it's so cold that you holler and whoop, it's time to bring out the Snowman Soup!
Pour the packet in a mug.
Add the snowballs too.
And throw in the kisses from the snowman to you.
Now add some hot water and use the cane to stir it.
Sip slowly and soon you'll feel the warm winter spirit!"
(You'll need hot chocolate, mini marshmallows, 2 Hershey kisses, 1 mint candy cane, and hot water)

Thanks, Megan! Too fun to not share ;)

Have a spiffy day! =)

She's just too smart...

Tonight the little bugger started IMing all by herself. That may not SEEM like a big deal, but that includes getting herself into the chair w/out help, not hitting any function keys to get OUT of the IM box my mother must have started, and not only typing but hitting enter to send the message!

I was doing dishes and I hear her clacking away in the next room. I ask Scott, "who's she typing to?" He says, "I have no idea. Did you put her in the chair?" I hadn't. Turns out, she's happily typing ooooooooooooooooooooooo and jjjkk,,,,mmmnoooooooooooo to my mother, who is just delighted. The funniest part is that she types her message pretty quietly and then WHAMS on the enter key. Now how did she figure THAT out!?

Have a peaceful evening! =)

Forgot!

Forgot to mention that she was conducting during the Christmas Eve service. She loved all the music and was turned around on Scott's lap to watch the choir behind us. The director was right there (we were only a few pews from the back) and she'd watch and mimic him. I think the pew behind us was in hysterics. I know the people sitting with us were! (Love you, Debbie!) Just thought all y'all'd get a kick out of envisioning that....

Have a super night! Stay cozy!

Christmas 2004

Carrie had a wonderful Christmas! We left Christmas morning for St. Louis to visit Kelly & Becky and their chocolate lab, Hershey. Carrie wasn't too sure about Hershey most of Christmas Day- that's a whole lot of tongue and tail when you're only 2.5 feet high and not used to dogs! By the time we left though, she'd been extending her hand to pet Hershey and was teasing her w/ the usual "whoo woo woof!" that she says for dogs ;)

Becky had a beautiful table set for Christmas dinner for us, her parents, and a newly pregnant couple that they're friends with. We had a blast! Carrie very much enjoyed pointing to the candles and wanted to color more than eat.... eventually we put her to bed and she was SO mad that the adults stayed up while she had to sleep. She let everyone know that she was not pleased. We played a game of Settlers of Catan (I just can't escape that game!!!!!!) and Scott won. There was no wood to be had in the game- took a good 3 hours! Anyway...

We made it through the night (Becky had a horrible coughing spell in the middle of the night and Scott's nose decided to run and then clog and then run again, so neither of them slept well) and went to the Galleria the next morning. We found some suuuuuuuper sales and had a very merry Christmas indeed! She was very good in the mall except for really wanting to run on her own after riding in the stroller so long. Who can blame her? She ate a ton of pizza at lunch too!

We started opening presents when we got back late last night and are still opening them. We now have wooden blocks all over the floor as well as plastic golfing materials, puzzle pieces, books, crayons, and other you-name-its. She is, naturally, in love w/ one of the bigger boxes and has been sitting in it, getting in and out of it, sitting on it, and coloring it. Hehe!

Guess I better go post the pictures before certain regular viewers kick my butt. Happy end of 2004!

Christmas Eve 2004

Merry Christmas Eve, all! We went to the 7 pm candlelight service at our church and Care Bear was good as gold, except for singing in quiet pauses. Our buddy Dave (who was on the other side of the church) said, "that's Carrie" and THEN turned to look to confirm his suspicions. Of course, both of US are going, "shhhhhhhh!" so there was little room for doubt. She loved the candles and even decided to gnaw on the bottom of one after they were extinguished. Yech. Gonna go do the pictures of her by the tree in her jammies tonight. Merry Christmas to all! We're headed to St. Louis tomorrow to visit w/ Kelly and Becky before they head off to St. C for Christmas. Take care!

For Lainie

And for Lainie, the jumper picture! So cute! Thank you =)

Date night and glamorous morning

Last night half our small group came over to watch Carrie so we could have a date. They said, "before we scatter (to Michigan, Seattle, etc) we thought you might like to get dinner & some shopping done!" but I think they just wanted a little kid fix before they all leave ;) Either way, you can bet your sweet bippy we took advantage of THAT deal!

So while they colored, read, blew bubbles, and had pizza, Scott and I got to try out a new-to-us Italian restaurant. He had a beef roll and I had lasagna- yummy! We picked up my book on reserve from the library right before they closed and then went to KMart for some shopping. What a great break! Never mind the fact that the windchill was below zero.... hey, we were out of the house and free! Hehe =)

Here's shots of Shawn, Dave, and Leeann (though I think SHE took them) playing w/ Carrie and then some of her this morning. She's infatuated w/ the purple beads right now. And for whatever reason, she keeps lugging cake mix out of our big cupboard...........

Tackle! (There's those beads again!) Posted by Hello
