Kurth Christmas Extravaganza 2004

This year was our 5th annual Christmas party! Last year, thanks to the Man Retreat and the Staff Reunion, we hosted 60 people throughout the weekend. Here's this year's rundown:

3 Andersons, 1 Beyer, 2 Bridgers, 1 Cunningham, 1 Damron, 1 Dennewitz, 1 Farrell, 1 George, 1 Hoagland, 1 Jones, 3 Kurths, 2 Severes, 5 Somervilles, 1 Vredeveld, 3 Walkers

We had way too much food (of course), lots of Apples to Apples and Settlers of Catan games, some guitar strummin' (see photos), and an overall good time! Carrie had a wonderful time as a hostess and was pleased as punch to wake up to overnight guests. Such a socialite!

The cookie list: molasses, gingersnaps, oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip, bananaramas, M&M, peanut butter thumbprint w/ blackberry jam, sugar cookies from Annmarie and Sam, and assorted brownie bites, coconut puff thingies, and a tray of goodies from Mike from OP staff at church. Like I said, WAY too much food.

Some of our regulars were sadly missed, including both of Scott's brothers and sisters-in-law and all of our parents. This party was a faithful remnant plus a bunch of our new Illinois friends!

We stayed up later and later and later and I eventually had to skip church Sunday to catch up on sleep. I missed a fantastic music service through which Carrie sat in the pew and didn't peep! Of all Sundays to miss! =( Our friends who sat w/ her said she was as good as gold, spellbound by the choirs, band, and bells. Darn it, I wish I'd been there!

Thanks, those of you who came from near and far, for blessing The Last Resort with your presence and friendship. Merry Christmas to all and a safe and prosperous New Year! We love you all. Without further ado, here are the pictures. Enjoy!
