House hunting trip

Got back last night from a house hunting trip in Ohio. We'd been gone a week and a half, so it's nice to be home. If all inspections go well on all fronts, we'll be moved by Halloween! And not a day too soon, either... what with unpacking and the baby coming.

Care Bear loved house hunting and our wonderful realtor, Chris. Every time we got in the car we heard, "one more house?" and "more Kees?" As soon as she got up in the mornings, she was asking about Chris and more houses. Amazing kid. It was nice to have her there to test things for childproofing right off the bat. Hehe! She was even a good sport in the hotels, taking me "yooming" (swimming) and charming the housekeeping staff. One lady, Marie, even left her a note when we were out! I read it to her and then she walked around the room "reading" it over and over again.

We even got to visit our "old" church, Cedar Creek (www.aroundthecreek.com) two weekends ago. Carrie went right into their huge nursery w/ all the other 2 year olds and had a blast. They have 2 way mirrors so we could watch and she didn't miss us one bit. It was really neat to be in their new-to-us building (they finished it just as we moved last time) and to hear how much they've grown- still doing 5 services and looking to expand even more. I think she really enjoyed being in the nursery as a break from us too!

Last weekend we got to play in Columbus at Karoly & Sharon's house. It was great to see them and finally meet Charlie, who will be one next month already! Carrie, Noah & Charlie had a good time stealing each others' toys throughout the weekend. I'll post pictures from the weekend tomorrow. It'll be so nice to live closer so they can become good friends! Care Bear even enjoyed their dog much more this time, saying "guse me" when stepping around him. Hehe!

Now we're back & it looks like we never left: puzzle pieces & books all over the floor, laundry in various stages of getting clean, stuff everywhere! Nice to be home... only here for 28 more days if all goes smoothly. Thanks for praying so hard, and please continue to do so because the inspections still need to be done!

A funny

Nothing at all to do w/ Care Bear, but everyone needs something to make them smile. Enjoy!

Wrong Side of the Bed!

Mother Superior was on her way to late morning prayers, when she passed two novices just leaving early morning prayers, on their way to classes. As she passed the young ladies, Mother Superior said, "Good morning ladies."The novices replied, "Good morning, Mother Superior, may God be with you."But after they had passed, Mother Superior heard one say to the other, "I think she got out of the wrong side of the bed this morning." This startled Mother Superior, but she chose not to pursue the issue.

A little further down the hall, Mother Superior passed two of the Sisters who had been teaching at the convent for several years. She greeted them with, "Good morning Sister Martha, Sister Jessica, may God give you wisdom for our students today.""Good morning, Mother Superior. Thank you, and may God be with you."But again, after passing, Mother Superior overheard, "She got out of the wrong side of bed today." Baffled, she started to wonder if she had spoken harshly, or with an irritated look on her face. She vowed to be more pleasant.

Looking down the hall, Mother Superior saw retired Sister Mary approaching, step by step, with her walker. As Sister Mary was rather deaf, Mother Superior had plenty of time to arrange a pleasant smile onher face, before greeting Sister Mary. "Good morning, Sister Mary. I'm so happy to see you up and about. I pray God watches over you today, and grants you a wonderful day.""Ah, Good morning, Mother Superior, and thank you. I see you got up on the wrong side of bed this morning."Mother Superior was floored! "Sister Mary, what have I done wrong? I have tried to be pleasant, but three times already today, people have said that about me."Sister Mary stopped her walker, and looked Mother Superior in the face."Oh, don't take it personally, Mother Superior. It's just that you're wearing Father Murphy's slippers."

So fast!

Things are happening super fast... our realtor was here Mon & Tues taking pictures of the house. Today the owner of the van lines for moving came to do an inventory of how much room we'd need on a moving truck. Tomorrow we get this place appraised and show it for the first time!

Just checked www.realtor.com but our house pictures aren't up yet. =/ Maybe tomorrow. Care Bear has been amazed and thrilled to delight everyone that's showed up for house related stuff. Such a social bug.

Her other big love of the last few days are seeds. She's finding them everywhere and was more than happy to spread sunflower seeds for the birds today. So when you see seeds, think of her! =)

YES!!!

Our cheery new mums are out front, ready to welcome anyone who wants to see The Last Resort now that it's for sale (see mums behind the for sale sign). I can't believe we'll be house hunting for Care Bear's third house before she is three. Amazing. Anyway, our realtor took pictures this morning and they'll be online shortly for your viewing pleasure. Yes, it's the same house. It's just clean. =P We laughed that nobody would believe it's the same place... bet when small group comes they'll think they found the wrong house. Hehe!

Not sure what Carrie thinks about the whole thing yet, but she very much enjoys house hunting. After each one, when we get her back into her car seat, she says, "one more?" and she asks about Chris, our Ohio realtor. Such a good sport!

Some new Carrie-isms: yoom= swim, howt it= hold it, I got it, I do it, paitig= painting (she's been watching Dada spruce the place up), Gone and Esay= John & Sally, our wonderful neighbors, pechews= pictures, haping= helping... I'm sure there's more but I'm blanking!

She was singing so loudly in Kroger today that an older man came up to us, grinning ear to ear & said, "I can hear her clear back in Meat!" and just was so tickled w/ her. We were in the FRONT of the store when he said it =/ I have no doubt he could... you'd have to be dead, not deaf, to have NOT heard her. Some of the older ladies commented & giggled on how she was in such a good mood, too. She's such a gift. They're really going to miss her in there!

Have a great week!

I know you all know...

...but sometimes reminders are nice. I just wanted y'all to see how beautiful she is! Have a wonderful weekend, everyone, and if anyone has any good ideas on how to send all of our Kurth Crap into the Bermuda Triangle for a temporary loan while we clean & show the house, please clue us in!

Labor Day weekend 2005

Dada had to work this weekend and when he got home we washed Pepe the Pilot. Carrie was soaked from the shoulders down because she "helped" so much. She even had suds in her hair! She also tried to scrub the driveway, the grass, us...

It was a nice, hot weekend. She likes to tell everyone, "nice day but hot" and sometimes will argue, "no! Nice day!" when you ask if she thinks it's hot. Apparently she also has some desert blood in her since the heat doesn't seem to bother her at all. Wonder what she'll do in the snow in Toledo..... hmmmmm!

Yesterday the Severes & the Somervilles came over for picnic action, bubble blowing, "Finding Nemo", Kerplunk, and Hide & Seek. It was a great time. Really going to miss all those guys when we're friendless in Northwest Ohio. Carrie & Mika had a wonderful time playing Ring Around the Rosy w/ the big kids (Mika's siblings) and Carrie loved the fall down part. She'd laugh & laugh, and has since been spinning around, falling down & making me sing the words. Wish she had some older siblings! Might have to rent some Somerville kids on a regular basis! ;)

I asked her what color she wanted her toenails to be next time and she's told me, "lellow, peenk, lellow, peenk" which I guess means she wants to alternate them like I do sometimes. We'll probably do that later this afternoon, if I can convince her that I am the one to do the painting and not her, as she was insisting this morning. Tonight is Ladies' Night Out, so I have a feeling she & Dada will be baking Pillsbury cookies while I'm not around to supervise.

Tomorrow is my next dr. appt so I'm packing her crayons to keep her entertained (even though she'll just want to jump off the scale over & over again) & hoping my little Asian dr. doesn't fall over when I tell him we're moving. "Yes, I realize my due date is 2 months away. No, I don't know our exact move date. Here, can you fax this to my doctor from two moves ago?" Should be entertaining! Have a great week!
