Haven't done a whole lot since Pa Pa left, which is why there hasn't been any news on here. It's finally cooler, having rained once for about 10 minutes earlier in the week. Scott spent a day in Plainfield this week, which makes the week go that much longer as he can't come home for lunch & leaves even earlier than his usual crack of dawn departure time.
However, tonight we went out to dinner in downtown Streator & were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the meal. Carrie was very good, having her clipboard, a beaded bracelet, many croutons & breadsticks, and her toy camera to keep her happy. Then we headed over to the Carnival that's been going on all week. She & I had seen them setting up on Monday when we went to the post office, but I knew she'd like the lights at night. Boy, did she! She was so amazed and wanted us to see everything.
She had her first merry go round ride w/ a very proud Dada. He got to do the honors this year while a pregnant Mama sits the sidelines w/ the camera. Hehe! She had her eyes squinched shut and her cheeks blown out for most of the ride... not sure if it was from the wind of being on the outside of the ride or what. It was hard to take pictures; I was laughing so hard.
We did a few of the usual park play structures and then on our way out we went past the huge slide w/ the burlap that you sit on. We had 3 tickets left, and it only needed two, so up they went. She loved it. Not only would she have sat right there to watch everyone else all night, she got off & was in the car & said, "more weeeeee? more weeeeeeeee!" with her arms up over her head. Too funny. We told her, "some other time" and will hope that next summer comes quick. Hehe! Have a good Fourth of July and a safe weekend! =)
