She never ceases to amaze me, part 2

Saturday afternoon during the kids' break time was beautiful. Dada was mowing the front yard and I was running in & out of the house, repotting the new herbs we'd bought. Out of the corner of his eye, Dada sees something fly/ fall past. It's Twiddlebug. He looks again and sees Care Bear's screen has fallen out of her window. He looks yet again and sees multiple other items have also fallen out of her bedroom window. Looking one last time to ensure that she herself has not make the trip out of the window, he proceeds to call me. "You're going to want to kill her." He brings me inside from the garage where I've been working and points outside to where the yard looks like one of those ads for the indestructible garbage bags where the guy is stuffing his possessions into the bag as the angry, presumably ex-girlfriend flings them from his second story window and the horrified old blue haired neighbor looks on.

Me: Oh, you go ahead. I WILL kill her.

Dada proceeds upstairs and I hear the sounds of discipline being administered amongst some shrieks. Did I mention I'd already been up there twice to tell her that it was break time and that she was supposed to be away from the window and was supposed to be lying down? We *think* she's learned her lesson and that she is now very positive that throwing things out of the window, any window, is forbidden. So if you talk to her any time soon, feel free to reinforce how dangerous that is and how it's not okay. That kid!

In other news, Dada had today off so we went to Maumee Bay State Park this morning. Care Bear calls it Mommy Obey State, which we find pretty funny. Liam very much enjoyed chasing seagulls. In fact, once he spotted them, he never looked back. He was of one mind about this. "Birds. Must get birds. Birds. Birds moved. Go get birds. More birds. Birds moved. Go get birds." Dada said he would have chased them the entire way around the water if he could have. Care Bear was much more into the sand. We took lots of different sized plastic cups and she dug away. We also enjoyed all the sunny dandelions that are everywhere to our delight. Well, to everyone's delight except Dada's. He's of the mind that they are weeds, poor misguided Dada. ;)

Now she's at preschool, Liam's napping, the screen's been reinstalled, the strawberries are in their new pots, and life is good. Have a wonderful week!
