Shawn picked us up here in Streator and took us to the Chicago Midway airport. Carrie got quite a kick out of the people movers and one of us had to chase her all over every airport. She was really excited and running laps like she does.
We got into PDX late Saturday, March 5th, after a layover in Denver that was pretty much just long enough to go to the bathroom. Eric picked us up and once we got to their house, Care Bear headed straight for Madeleine's toys with a look on her face like, "someone here is my size!" It was really cute to see the amazement on her face as she got excited about the balls, kid sized furniture, books, etc. Finally we corraled her and popped her into the pack n play; she snuggled down w/ her pillow, Tigger, and Hershey, and didn't even peep. We were all pretty worn out!
The next morning was Sunday and we needed to get up and see all our old friends at our first church, Celebration Fellowship. I can't believe I didn't take more pictures! Argh. Anyway, Carrie got to meet Wendy that morning, and we all met Madeleine and Christian for the first time. Madeleine was a little bit territorial and Carrie was a bit intimidated, but by the end of the week they were pretty hilarious together. Once we got to church, we saw Gina, Yvette, Connie, Leanne, the Leyes family, Connie & Mark, Tricia, Tommy, Michele & Jim & Marlea, and some new faces. It was so nice to be back! We really surprised some people... Wendy & Eric hadn't told anyone we were coming. Yvette actually RAN to come see us, she was that amazed! It was great. Carrie even went right to her, which made her day.
Sunday was the day to adjust to a new time zone and feel everyone out. Everybody in the nursery said Carrie was so funny and that she didn't fuss at all. Made us feel good! She's always been a church baby =) Thanks, Clarion folks, for helping to get her off to such a great start! Apparently she danced & was charming, her usual self in other words.
