Wednesday in Oregon

Wednesday the dads took the girls to OMSI, the science museum. Sadly, our camera battery chose that day to die, so we don't have any pictures of the girls there =( You'll just have to settle for word pictures!

Scott said there was a big sandbox area, shoes & socks had to be removed, and Care Bear was very hesitant about joining in. He took off his, Madeleine hopped in, and Scott took Carrie's off too but she still wasn't having anything to do with it. He said that he picked her up by her arms & as he lowered her into it, she brought her feet up higher & higher the closer she got to the sand. He said her bum actually hit the sand first. Once she was in it she very much enjoyed it! Kids!

Apparently there were lots of balls, vacuum displays w/ more balls, tons of exhibits to walk around and see. She liked the xylophone set made out of wrenches and screwdrivers. You'll have to ask Scott, I have no idea what he's talking about! =)

While they were all learning about science, Wendy, Christian, and I headed to "the neighborhood" in Hillsboro where just about everyone from CF (our old church) lives. We got to hang out w/ Michele, Connie J, Paul & Lotte, and I got to meet some new neighbors & kids who've moved into the area since we were there. The kids we knew have grown SO MUCH. Think how long 5 years is... and then think about it in growth spurts in kids! Amazing. Such a good time catching up w/ everyone. There is a sad note to the neighborhood- the neighbors are stressed because there is a house in the development where fighting pit bulls are being bred. Some animals (pets!) have already been mauled, but so far nobody has been hurt. Please be praying that the people raising them realize (hello!) that they are in a neighborhood SURROUNDED by kids and that if they want to raise dogs and train them to fight, that they really shouldn't be doing it in that kind of residential area. At one point, a Golden Retriever had to lay down over a small child to protect it from one of the pit bulls that got loose. Please keep the neighborhood & our friends in your thoughts & prayers so that nobody gets hurt! =(

She had a good time in the nursery at church this morning and got a real kick out of the palm branches that she got after church. She was super in the restaurant when we went out to lunch, slept 10 minutes in the car on the way home, and decided that was it for naps today! So she is now in the tub and then will be sent promptly to bed! Have a good week!
